JOHN SOLOMON REINHARD of the Fourteenth Ward, Allentown, was born Nov. 29, 1869, in Upper Saucon township. He was reared upon the farm until he was sixteen years old, then he went to St. Louis. Mo., for two years and upon his return to his native county settled in East Allentown (Hanover township), now the Fourteenth Ward, Allentown. For twenty years he was employed by the American Wire and Steel Company, Allentown, in the drawing department. He resigned this position to take charge of the drawing department of the Alabama Steel and Wire Company, in Alabama.

Six months later he again returned to East Allentown and for four years more was employed by the American Wire and Steel Company. In 1909 he was elected tax collector for a term of three years. Alter the annexation of East Allentown, as the Fourteenth Ward, the court of Lehigh county appointed him the first constable, which office he now serves. He is also one of the collectors of the county; delinquent city and school taxes; was auditor of Hanover Township for three years; and school director for two years, resigned the latter office when he went to Alabama.

He and family are members of the St. Joseph's Lutheran church, which Mr. Reinhard served as deacon, elder and trustee for many years. Socially he is a charter member of Jordan Council, No. 746, J. O. U. A. hi; Washington Camp. No. 6, P. O. S. of A.; Charter member of the original East Allentown Fire Company, member of the Lehigh county Democratic Club, and is one of the influential and honored citizens of the community.

In January 1889, he was married to Laura Albright, a daughter of Thomas and Mary Albright of Hanover township.
