Catharine Schreiber, third daughter of Jacob Schreiber, was born March 12, 1812. She married, in 1835, Joseph Eberhard. and resided many years on a farm along the Coplay creek in North Whitehall. They had three children: a son, who died in infancy, and two daughters: Maria, who married, Dec. 24, 1867, Jacob Lichtenwalner, and Amanda, wife of Josiah G. Albright.

Mrs. Eberhard was a woman of great strength of mind, fearless and resolute. She lived to the age of 95 years, less one day, and died March 11, 1907. She was blind for fourteen years, but notwithstanding this affliction, loved to converse about the past. She possessed a wonderful memory and the writer wishes to record his indebtedness to her for many facts concerning the old families of Whitehall.
